Healthy Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe That’s Inspirational
Vegan ice cream is not only possible to make, I dare say it’s better than dairy ice cream. Isn’t it inspiring to think about an ice cream that will make your taste buds do a happy dance and keep your waistline in check?
You often see this snack playing the villain in weight loss commercials and ads. After all, we’re led to believe that eating ice cream can contribute to obesity, diabetes, and a host of other health issues. Although there is truth to this concept, we must remember that not all ice cream is created equally. If you’re going the store bought route, you’re sure to fall into the trap of unhealthy over-indulgence. Thankfully, we have another option.
Inspirational Chocolate Ice Cream is the easiest recipe for non-dairy, no sugar ice cream. It will satisfy you without leaving you feeling uncomfortably stuffed. The best part is that this simple recipe is ridiculously easy to make. Rest assured that there is no expensive, clunky ice cream maker involved. I’m a huge fan of keeping food simple. I find that when we realize that making healthy food is much easier than we’re led to believe, we tend to stick with the practice for the long term.
Inspirational Chocolate Ice Cream can be made in your own kitchen with a blender or food processor, and a few key ingredients. All you need are a few frozen bananas, a heaping spoon of cocoa powder, and chopped fruit or nuts (if you’d like to add more flavor and nutrients). Throw the ingredients into your blender for a few minutes, toss the mix into a bowl, grab a spoon and dig in. How easy is that?
- 3 frozen bananas
- 1 heaping tbsp. raw cacao/cocoa powder
- Fruit or chopped nuts for topping, optional
- Break frozen bananas into small pieces.
- Place bananas and cocoa/cacao into blender or food processor, blend until desired consistency scraping down the sides every now and then, will take anywhere from 3 to 6 minutes.
- Scoop into your bowls, top with fruit or nuts and eat right away.
- You can also store in an airtight container in the freezer and let thaw for 10 minutes before
Aside from the ease and satisfaction, this comfort food ups the ante when it comes to essential nutrients. The potassium found in the bananas helps with tissue, cell and organ function, and the cocoa can help lower cholesterol and high blood pressure. Add some berries to the mix, and you’re sure to up your frequency while increasing your antioxidant intake. Vegan or not, everyone can enjoy this succulent treat!
